Why aren’t you open to the public before noon?

We open at noon seven days a week to the public. Mornings are reserved for private programs such as birthday parties and field trips.

Where do your animals come from?

Nearly all of our sea animals are caught by our staff and volunteers in Narragansett Bay and in the Atlantic Ocean off our coast. Some are rescued from commercial fishing vessels, and others are donated by other aquariums. Our reptiles have been rescued from unwanted homes. Some of our specialty exhibits (such as the Amazon and Finding Nemo tanks) have been donated by A’s Aquatics pet store across the street.

How much is admission to Biomes?

General admission during our public hours is $12 per adult and $10 for children (3-12) and seniors (65+). Children under three years of age are free.

Do you offer any discounts?

To keep costs down for all our guests, we do not offer reduced rates for teachers, students, military, AAA or others. Group rates for private programs are available.

Is Biomes a non-profit entity?

No. We are a for-profit business and privately owned and operated. As such, we do not receive grants or sponsorships from state, local or federal governments, or funding by corporations. Our center is funded through admission fees alone.

Are you handicap accessible?

Yes. There is a handicap entrance and ramp on the left side of the building. All of our exhibits are on one floor and the bathroom is fully equipped as well.
