This is a five week class and workshop with professional photography instructor Steve McGrath. 

Learn to take photos of the Biomes menagerie that are sure to impress your friends and family. This course will teach you the basics and intermediate in camera settings, angles, and editing to help you capture the perfect aquarium photo. In this workshop we will meet at the entrance to the aquarium, and then we will go over camera settings, composition and how to take great photos at the aquarium and manage the tough lighting conditions! Some of the items we will need to look out for will be low light, limited mobility, fast moving subjects, and no tripods for this one!

This adult class will be taught by local sea glass artisan Georgia Hitti. All sea glass and materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own special piece of sea glass to create a pendant with.

Come join us for some gross fun!  One of our educators will lead the group through a guided dissection where you will learn about basic anatomy and some cool characteristics of squid.  You'll also get to write with the squid 'pen' and 'ink'!  Each child will have their own squid to work with and adults are also welcome to dissect, if they wish to.

Dissection designed for ages 8 and up but all ages are welcome

A guest from the educational book company Usborne Books will visit Biomes and hold a story time event. This program will be on March 16th from 3:00 - 4:00 pm and is free with admission. Geared towards children ages 3 - 6, a simple craft will be completed following the stories. The Magic of Usborne books is that they make learning and reading fun, and Usborne Books representative Courtney will share some of this magic with your children.
