About Us

The Biomes Center is New England's only private marine education facility and the largest aquarium in Rhode Island. We've been providing hands-on marine biology programs for schools and families since 1989.

We specialize in teaching children and adults about the marine animals of Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Field Trips

Field trips for schools, scouts, day-cares, etc., are scheduled weekday mornings by appointment. Click here for more information.

Birthday Parties

Private parties are scheduled Friday evenings, and all day on Saturdays. Click here for more information.

Public Hours

Sunday  10am to 5pm

Monday - Friday  noon to 5pm.

Saturday  Reserved for private birthday parties, scout groups, and other scheduled programs. Please call for availability. 

Admission is $9 per person. Children under 3 are free.

We also offer an annual membership, which is $100 and covers up to 4 people 3 years or older. The $9 admission for each person beyond the first 4 will still apply. The membership card can also be used by grandparents, and baby sitters.
